Free Means Free
If you've played Skat online before, you know the rhythm: a round or two, then an ad, a paywall, or a nudge toward the premium version. There is none of that here, and none is coming. No ad breaks, no round limits, no locked features, no coins to buy. What you're looking at is the whole game, and the free version is the only version.
Why It's Free
This game carries the name of my grandfather Lothar. He taught me Skat, and we filled countless evenings with it. This game is my thank-you for all that joy: built out of love for the game and for him, and given to the world in the same spirit. If a single person has a few minutes of fun here, it was worth building. If someone rediscovers their love for Skat, picks up a new strategy, or learns the game for the first time because of Lothar, all the better. That is the whole idea behind everything here: a passion project.
Your Data Isn't the Product
No ads also means no ad networks. Nothing about you is sold, shared, or handed to anyone. The only measurement is a self-hosted visit counter that sets no cookies and stores nothing on your device, and its numbers never leave our server. There is nothing to sell here: you are a guest, not a product.
No Account to Play
Solo Skat against the court needs no signup. Not to start, not to continue, not after your hundredth round. The one thing that takes a registration is a table with friends, for a simple technical reason: invitations work by name, so you need a name your friends can find. That registration is a free name and password, nothing more. We don't even ask for an email address.
