King Lothar sits on your left and Prince Stef on your right, two personas of one court. Behind the crown and the coronet is the same mind, weighing every card the same way whichever seat it's dealt. The knight with the closed visor, sitting across from them both, is you. Anyone who takes that seat becomes the challenger.
